Hibernate version:3

Name and version of the database you are using: HSQLDB 1.8

When i try to create a database with :

<property name="hbm2ddl.auto">update</property> in the hibernate.cfg.xml, no tables are created. I test this same configuration with Postgres and it's run perfectly.

Help me please!

In which mode do you run HSQL?
Could it be 'in memory' database - so all the changes are gone as JVM exits.
Or it might be relative path to the DB, then try using absolute path and see if that will make any difference.
Or start HSQLDB as a server process and see if the problem will persist.

Was it the same HSQL version?

I also suggest downloading Hibernate sopurces and look at the JUnit tests there. They do use HSQL and it seems to work fine.

The Solution:

I change the database to DERBY DB, a embedded database developed by IBM that was donated to the APACHE community.

That was a good change!
