I am just wondering if there will be a standalone Hibernate Console 3?

The current one is Eclipse plugin and it's nice, but I have to load Eclipse when I just want to try to HQL my data. And how about the users of other IDE? Migrate all projects to Eclipse if they want to use Hibernate 3?

My major works are still using Hibernate 2 just because no standalone console avaiable :(

we (or even better the community) will bring out a standalone SWT/RCP version. Btw. no reason to migrate any project to eclipse...

just take a pure eclipse and open the hibernate console perspective - it will run from any set of .jar/classes....

That's great! I hope to see standalone (SWT or whatever) edition of Hibernate Console scheduled in roadmap.
