Just woundering if its possible to build n run Hibernate applications without ANT, or is that we have to use it .....

Sure, it's possible. I can't imagine why you'd want to endure that kind of pain though. If you're having problems building Hibernate, fix your Ant installation / system environment.

Are you talking about building the Hibernate source or building your own application?

The hibernate source comes with a precompiled JAR in the zip download. You do not need Ant to build it.

Then you can inlcude that jar in your application and do whatever you want to build/run your application.
