Hibernate version:
2.1.8

Model: Two classes A and B with bidirectional many-to-one association with lazy inverse collection (bag).

A(*)<->(1 lazy inverse collection)B

When I add A object to lazy collection in B and this collection is not initialized then version number of B is not changed. When I do this for initialized collection then version number is incremented.

Isn't it a bug?

Possibly, submit a runnable test case to JIRA.
