is it ok for hibernate to do a System.exit?

I recently found out that hibernate (through antlr) does System.exit's on errors. I think this is absurd for a shared component. It should never take such drastic measures but just propogate the error using Exceptions.

Comments?

I have seen this in OTHER systems, especially in demonstration clients and test applications, so I would not be surprised to find it.

I just did a search in the entire hibernate source tree for "system.exit" and did NOT get a hit, FYI

Fixed by subclassing the panic methods of antlr.
