I have a User bean and a Group bean with many-to-many relationship b/w em. I have cascading="none". I give a session.update(user) and in the logs i see that hibernate is doing insert into statements! why?

theres another "learning/test" prj i m working on (tapestry/hibernate). i ve noticed that calling the methods that do the insert update from the tapestry web code throws some unique constraint error...while the same methods performs the updates/inserts flawlessly from a console test class. this is beyond me.

someone please guide. :-?
