When using JBoss Cache for transactional cache concurrency across multiple JVMs, what is the best way to over-ride the hashCode() method?

Since the Id object may reside in multiple memory locations over multiple memory spaces, the recommendation in Hibernate In Action doesn't seem to fit...

Any help appreciated.
