I've just started playing with Hibernate (3.0beta 2+annotations) to see if it can fit with our legacy application. I managed to quickly map our idiomatic ID generation strategy into the XML file-based approach by writing a class that implements IdentifierGenerator and Configurable. But now I would like to use annotations and I can't figure out how to use my ID generator - it looks like the spec doesn't support it?

I found this post which seems to suggest that it will be supported by a Hibernate-specific extension. Have I understood correctly? Is there a timeframe for this support?

Thanks,
R

true this is not supported by the spec.
We'll add it as a Hibernate specific feature.
Sorry no timeframe
