In sql server, we can use
select * from item with (updlock)
for pessimistic locking. But when I use
session.load(Item.class,new Long(1),LockMode.UPDATE)
Hibernate only issue
select * from item where id=1
and there is no pessimistic locking on the item table.
so how can I use pessimistic locking in sql server?

Its not yet implemented for SQL server. (You would have to explicitly call lock(), which it is implemented for.)

Patches are welcome.
