I understand Xdoclet 2 has greater coverage of Hibernate features but there are many more plugins/targets for Xdoclet 1.2.x . Depends what else you might need. I suggest you start with Xdoclet 2 (even though I have done some improvements to Xdoclet 1 [more to come - one day].

I've already download and configure XDoclet 2 because 1.2 failed to generate hbm.xml files.

Hmmm... Failed to generate hbms. I use XDoclet 1.2.x most days (at least for one of my projects) . Anyway, glad you have v2 working.
