Hi,
I'd like to use the XML Mapping Editor with it's context auto completion. I already have some pojos and would like to create the hbm.xml files. However, no matter what I do, I don't seem to be able to start up the mapping editor, only the default text one. Btw, creating the configuration file and the console configuration does not seem to help. In fact, even the artifact created hbm.xml files also open with the default editor. And I did check, the *.hbm.xml file association isassigned to the hbm.xml Editor.

I am using Eclipse:
Version: 3.1.0
Build id: I20050401-1645

Thanks

Konrad

Hello everybody ...

I have to say that i am having the same problem.

I also am using Eclipse
Version: 3.1.0
Build id: I20050401-1645

Unfortunately I am new to hibernate and I am actually trying to evaluate it. If this is a common problem, can somebody please point us to an FAQ entry if there is one? Does anybody have a clue as to why this could be happening?

Many thanks, Martin Bosticky.

Hi Max

I have associated the editor with the *.xml extension using 'File Associations' in the preferences. However when i open the document using the 'hmb.xml Editor (Hibernate Tools)', it is just a gray box and the tile in on the tab sais 'hmb.xml Editor (Hibernate Tools)' instead of the document name.

Could this mean that my hibernate tools are not correctly installed? According to 'About Eclipse Platform Plug-ins' dialog box in Eclipse I am using hibernate Mapper Plug-in 3.0.0.alpha.

Perhaps there is a later version? I am not familiar with building of the hibernate tools but i can try.

Many thanks, Martin.[/img]
