 Post subject: isDirty() type method for individual objects?

Hibernate version:2

I know that Hibernate does automatic checks for changes within the Session. I would sometimes like to know if an individual object in a Session has changed. Is there a way to use Hibernate's dirty object detector on individual objects? Like a Session.isDirty(Object o)?
