Hy am running JBoss-4.0.0 and Hibernate 2.1.7

Am setting up the following appender and category in my jboss log4j.xml.
The appender seems to create the log file but nothing gets appended to it... Bassically! I want to see what SQL is beeing created and what values are beeing passed through the SQL, because am having problems wiuth my queries that use a date format...

Thanks

Code:
<appender name="HIBERNATE" class="org.jboss.logging.appender.RollingFileAppender">
   <param name="File" value="${jboss.server.home.dir}/log/hibernate.log"/>
   <param name="Append" value="false"/>
   <param name="MaxFileSize" value="500KB"/>
   <param name="MaxBackupIndex" value="1"/>

   <layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
      <param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d %-5p [%c] %m%n"/>
   </layout>
</appender>

<category name="net.sf.hibernate.sql">
   <priority value="DEBUG" />
   <appender-ref ref="HIBERNATE"/>
</category>

you want 'net.sf.hibernate.SQL'

also, if you want the parameters being bound you need to enable 'net.sf.hibernate.type' at debug

Ok I will try it it with capital SQL...

I also tried before net.sf.hibernate and nothing! The log file gets created, which proves the appender is good!

Is it maybe because I have commons-loging and log4j jars in my WEB-INF\lib and they are interfeering with JBoss-4.0.0 loging?

Do you have any commons-logging.properties file that would be telling your webapp to not use log4j for commons logging?

I'm using JBoss as default from the download. No special config...

My log4j.xml

Code:
