The following code segment

User user = (User)getHibernateTemplate().load(User.class, key);
user.setStatus(new Integer(1));
getHibernateTemplate().flush();

is almost identical as the code segment on the section 9.4.1 of the documentation except the Hiberante session is called through the Spring framework wrapper class. The updated object doesn't show up in the DB at all. What is missing here?
