Access object only in 2nd level cache

Hi,
Is there a way to access objects in the cache without falling back on the database if it's not there? I use "session.get" but I never want to make a db call.

I use ehcache.

thanks for your answer,
But I use short sessiosn and I have all the data in the 2nd level cache. So I basically want to ask just the 2nd level cache. If the element is not there I know it does'nt exist and I don't want to make a db call to confirm that.
