What's the difference, if any, between these two? Does Query represent stored procedures versus Session.find() which does not?

Regarding stored procedures, the answer is no.

Probably the main advantage of using Query is that you can cache it.
And you can conveniently write it in .hbm file.

You mention the benefit of Query over Session.find() but is there any benefit to using Session.find() over Query? Does Hibernate have a concept of stored procedures or is this hidden under the hood?
