ist there any possibility to get Hibernate running with XML-Files. Are there any wrappers or else ?

Yes, it is. JDBC drivers and dialects are plugable.

This stuff is used by ETL engines, see this tool for example http://octopus.objectweb.org, but it is not a good idea to use ORM as ETL tool.

Ok, this tool creates xml files out of my database, but it isn't possible to get hibernate working with this tool. and this is my actual problem.

is it possible to do this with an own dialect? is there any docu about writing an own dialect ?
