 Post subject: Hibernate and DBCP

This should be an easy question. I followed the instructions for using Tomcat's connection pooling with Hibernate. It works fine but I had just one question.

There's no mention of giving connections back to the pool. How is this managed? Does hibernate automatically do this when session.close() is called?

Don't use DBCP, it has lots of problems (search forum for this issue, which is well covered). Use c3P0 instead for a Tomcat DataSource, or proxool.
