If I remember right, there is a function to save an Object to a XML-File. If there any documentation or example for this?

If you want to serialize an entity to XML, I'd check out XStream or JDOM. I don't think Hibernate is concerned with this.

There is XmlDatabinder, but it was never really far developed, you can give it a try though.
