Hibernate version:2.1.8

I have this:

Criteria c = persistenciaHibernate.createCriteria(new TipoCargoVO(), TipoCargoVO.class);

c.add(Expression.like("descricao", "Secretário", MatchMode.ANYWHERE).ignoreCase());

But I wanna do in this criteria remove accent in word "Secretário" when hibernate communicate with database, I need this happend both side.
How can I do this?

you should remove the accent yourself before passing it to Hibernate and before storing such a value in the database. If you have a DBMS which has a builtin function for this then I don't know.
