Is there some reason that a UUID is not available as a datatype for a version property? Or is there a change that I am missing. This is what the documentations says: "Version numbers may be of type long, integer, short, timestamp or calendar"

Hum, there is no theorical reason if we consider UUID as unique. But it is widely admited that versions are incremental. Actually that the first time someone ask that feature :-)

Then please consider this an enhancement request. We use UUID for tuple versioning.
