I just downloaded the .zip for caveatemptor from http://caveatemptor.hibernate.org/5.html and then realized this is not the version that can be deployed as a web app. Where do I get hold of the web app version?

There is none, see readme.txt. I've received a simple Struts interface that I've to clean up and add. Not really priority, since there is no description of it in the book neither. Get one of the Struts, WebWork, etc. books; shouldn't be too difficult to add a web presentation tier on top of the shown command and facade patterns.
