How does hibernate support table mappings in different schema in general? One way to support it I can think of is to add schema name in the table attribute of the mapping file (.hbm.xml). I haven't tried it so don't know if it will work. Is there any other way to configure it?

Thanks,

you answered your own question - and why should their be another way of defining it ? If you need to map across multiple schemas then the mappings need to know which schema they are in.

If your mappings is inside the same schema you can just set the default_schema property in hibernate properties.
