Hello ,

I believe, this is because of the changes in version 2.1.7c (24.11.2004).

"improved handling of long strings (now uses LONG instead of VARCHAR2) on Oracle8 (Harry Schittler)
"

How do we deal with this ?

Thanks
Shishir

other than

a) changing the OracleDialect and compiling again
or
b) Defining SQL type in the mapping

Never mind, Sorry about that. Seems that I had the Buggy OracleDialect version. Downloaded the latest 2.1.7 and everything's good.
