Hi,

Are there any plans to make the content of this forum accessible thru' a newsgroup (on gmane.org for instance), like the one for the developers (gmane.comp.java.hibernate.devel)?

Since you have such high traffic on this forum (the red message above states that there are more than 100 messages per day), a newsgroup would be the best solution, since with a news client is much easyer and faster to follow/answer the messages/threads.

Thanks in advance,

Ahmed.

No, its easier for the majority of active members to use a web-based forum (really, I would be the first to use NTTP for this), since we need filled out forms (you have just seen it in the textarea), the complete posting history, etc.

We will also soon make some changes to the forum that wouldn't be possible with a news system.

Hmm, strage (or it's only me? :) ), but for me it's much faster with Mozilla Thunderbird to follow the threads in a newsgroup than to go thru' all those webpages.

Thanks,

Ahmed.

I've been using both for many years (usenet for almost 15 years), and this is really the best we can do for our usecase.
