 Post subject: Best solution for Connection Pool

I have to develop more then one application with struts and hibernate.
Now i have one connection pool per application but when i'll distribute all application in the same server they'll start one connection pool per application. Is that the best solution in terms of performace or to have only one connection pool?

it's an appserver problem.
