Hibernate version: 2.1.6

Hi,
Are there any compatibility problems when using hibernate with commons-collections version 3.0 instead of version 2.1.1 that is in hibernate lib directory?

Thanks,
Jair Jr

At http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/collections/history.html they state
Quote:
Of course, backwards compatibility has been retained during all transitions using deprecation.

So your chances are good.

Which is not true: they broke it with 2.1 and 3.0. Thats why we upgraded to 2.1.1 in Hibernate 2.1.5. Avoid commons-* if you can.

Thank you very much for your help. I'll remove the dependency with commons-collections 3.0 and use version 2.1.1 in my project

Ooops... do you have any idea of wich part of Hibernate could be broken if using commons-collection-3* ?

We are using this version of the collections lib since it is released together with the latest Hibernate versions without any problem - so far so good...

AFAIK, using 2.1.1 and 3 in paralell should not cause problems, but 2.1 and 3 would

Do you mean using 2.1 and 3.0 both at the same time should cause problem ? You bet! But who would be stupid enough to do so ?
