Are the package names for hibernate going to be changing to org.hibernate.xxx from net.sf.hibernate???

This will be the only the second time they have changed and it is Major release. I would always expect some form porting involved. Last time we supplied some scripts to help convert the package names. No doubt that will happen again this time. I would expect the base package name to be stable from this point on.

When was the first time?

All of you: having new package names means you can run Hibernate2 and Hibernate3 in parallel, which is very very nice for most people.

I tried to find an old archive to confirm but Hibernate 1.x was cirrus.* and we converted to sf on release of hibernate 2.0.

I agree it is good that users can have both libs if appropriate (and depended libraries don't clash).
