Any ideas on when the 2.2 branch will be officially released as an alpha, beta, or even final? I noticed that in JIRA everything appears to be closed for the 2.2 alpha and 2.2 beta1. Right now I am working off of the source tree.

I am interested in the dynamic-class enhancement mostly. Officially then this will not be released until Hibernate3 hits the streets?

Are the changes for the dynamic-class going to be merged into the latest Hibernate2 release? If not, would you say that it would be safe to use the v22branch if we needed this feature?

There will be no merge. Please read the road map. No, you shouldn't use the v22branch, it's dead. Please consult the website.

One last post regarding this issue.

The Road Map states that all existing interfaces, HQL, etc will be be supported from previous versions (excluding a few minor code replacements). I take it that the internals will be pretty going quite an overhaul inorder to make the new features happen. Would you recommend using the Hibernate3 HEAD for our developement?
