Can anyone tell me about any plans to implement a CMP EJB container for JBoss using Hibernate technology?

I understand that there is a certain "impedance mismatch" between CMP EJBs and Hibernate, and that it would be preferable to use Hibernate directly from the stateless session bean facade layer. The problem is that I am using a legacy implementation and would like to use Hibernate without having to modify any code (I'm not asking too much ;-) ).

I have seen a reference on the JBoss web site welcoming the inclusion of the Hibernate project and mentioning that it would replace their "aging CMP implementation". I need to understand if this means that a CMP 2.0 engine based on Hibernate will be available soon or will I have to wait until EJB 3.0 (which seems a closer match to Hibernate in that it uses POJOs).

Thanks,
Dominic.

Currently, our plan is to not provide a Hibernate-based CMP 2.1 implementation in JBoss 4. This is a recent change of plan.

We will have a CMP 2.1/3.0 engine based on Hibernate for JBoss 4.2.

I'm not completely ruling out the possibility of a Hibernate-based CMP 2.1 engine compatible with JBoss 3.x, but is not the current priority.
