Guys, I have had enough.

I am sick of:

(1) people demanding free support, and never saying thanks
(2) people telling me how to behave in our own community
(3) people who are too lazy to read documentation and FAQs
(4) people who use our software for free but won't help us by talking about their success, or letting us talk about it
(5) Stupid benchmarks

Its time I stop participating in the community, been doing it this for well over two years now, and now I just get aggravated, so I won't post here anymore.

I used to believe strongly in giving free support, but I've given up on that, since no-one seems to appreciate it.

I am sure that others, who are less disillusioned than me, will take up the slack.

I will of course still be providing commercial support, I enjoy it more, paying customers are actually, paradoxically, more appreciative (I can't figure that one out).

Thanks for using Hibernate, it is a dream come true for me.

Hi Gavin. I'm a relative newcomer to the hibernate users community and would like to thank you, the rest of the development team, and the knowledgeable users who take time out of their busy days to give free help to people who don't always appreciate what they're getting. I'm a veteran user of (and occasional developer on) quite a few open source projects and must say I've been very impressed with the quality of the hibernate documentation and the helpfulness of the forums. Cheers, man.

Hi Gavin

After reading your post, I just wanted to put in a few words of support for the team. I know that it may not seem like it at times, but there definitely are people who do appreciate the work and effort that goes into a product (and a forum) like this!

Just saying thanks,
Jason
