Say I want to update a set of rows based on a condition. Would my HQL support multipe row updates through the normal UPDATE..WHERE clause supported in Oracle?

If not how would I do this?

No, HQL does not support update queries. Hibernate is not really designed for mass updates, the only way to do this is to load all objects and modify them. I'd rather suggest using the JDBC connection directly though.
