They are not related. One is a pattern that is used to hide the implementation details of a persistence layer in an application, while the other is a technique that automates the conversion of data from a relational to a network representation.

So where does Hibernate fix into. I am seeing both the functionality in Hibernate.

So can I call Hibernate an ORM DAO supporting tool.

You can hide Hibernate behind a DAO API.

Nah, I'm really happy now to have something which explains it all :) You can't get more value for that kind of money and it will hopefully safe all of us some time repeating the same things over and over again.

i think depending people, the doc or a commercial support is needed, all my team is really waiting for the book (real book with paper).
I'm also advising an off-shore partner to contact you for a commercial support since i want them to know all about hibernate and best practices. i don't wanna have bad surprises during test phase
