I have a custom type-safe collection:

Code:
public class ItemCollection implements Collection {
...
}

and a class that has an ItemCollection:

Code:
public class Thing {
    private ItemCollection items;

    public ItemCollection getItems() {
        return this.items;
    }

    public void setItems(ItemCollection items) {
        this.items = items;
    }
}

How do I map this relationship using hibernate?

Hibernate can only map Collection interfaces, it replace the collection implementation for lazy feature implementation and other cool features.
