Hi all,

Maybe this is a silly question, but for the life of me I just can't seem to get hibernate to stop logging.

Even the 'How do I configure logging' document doesn't say anything about turning it off. http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/hibernate/Hibernate/doc/faq.html?rev=1.5#How%20I%20configure%20logging?

Is there is way to completely turn off all logging ?

Cheers,
Ryan

Customize your log4j.properties.

Hi Christian,

Forgot to mention that I am not using log4j but letting the commons-logging that hibernate uses, drop back to jdk1.4 java.util.logging.

Been racking my brains for quite some time about this. Would appreciate some clue on how to do this.

Thanks again,
Ryan

ok! I give up.
Using hibernate with a j2ee server where you dont want to play around too much with the LogManager ( jdk1.4 logging ) is not easy.

The best way to turn off all logging IS to just include log4j.jar (even if you reeeealy hate it) .. put the log4j.properties (turning off everything) in a folder thats in the class-path attribute in the manifest.mf and voila!

Cheers,
Ryan
