Hi,

Section 5.1.12 of the Hibernate manual says:

The <component> element allows a <parent> subelement that maps a property of the component class as a reference back to the containing entity.


...but I can't find any documentation on <parent>, or examples of how to make it work.

Any help appreciated! :-)

Just use parent when your component has a property pointing back to its containing entity. Look at the DTD for whats allowed in there.
