Does Hibernate have to use Tomcat

Does Hibernate have to use Tomcat or any other kind of server in order to use it?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this question. I usually respect the time of others, but I couldn't find the answer to this anywhere on the website.

No, it can work in standalone

No, all it needs is a JVM.
