Apples vs. Oranges

We need specific questions for specific use cases to answer a question like that. "The fastest" is also no longer a good metric to measure persistence frameworks. All are "fast" if used correctly.

This is really an apples-vs-oranges comparison. Torque does not do much of what Hibernate can do, it's pretty much only a convenience layer over SQL, it does no relationship management, cascades, whatever. And it requires a slew of generated code for that, too.
