Approximately 25% of the posts here are of the nature of "you didn't give us enough infomation....."

I get really annoyed by this because it is basically just lazy selfishness.

I doubt it will work, but we can try.

What about either:

1) Some form of moderator - essentially what we have been doing oursleves - but this involves a reource and may delay messages posted correctly - perhaps not such a good idea now that I think of it

2) A different page for posting to the beginners forum, that would have set input fields, like:

Describe you problem/question, paying attention to ...blah blah
<textarea></textarea>

Paste your mappings here:
<textarea></textarea>

Paste your code here:
<textarea></textarea>

3) Allow posting as per usual but allow certain users (moderators) to kick new messages (with no replies) to a "junk-posting" forum. This would generate a mail to the poster, giving them a reference to the HOW-TO-POST docs, and informing them of the action that was taken.

I think a header box in the forum refering to the FAQ and the How-to-ask Page would allready help a lot.

Thats what I figured might help, so I'll put it in the template later.

I'd suggest putting a Sticky/Announcement at the top of each forum called "How to ask for help" or something similar. Some will read it, others will not.

Actually, I've seen the level of information raised for the last 2 months. Remenber the early ages where no log were posted at all.

The dark red header can't be missed (at least the first time :) ).

The moderator tip won't help :
The same 10+ people will read every post.
The forum responsiveness will fail
