I've linked from the wiki a short document

http://www.open-lab.com/ppolsinelli/hibernateWorks.pdf

where I start answering the kantian question "How is it possible that Hibernate works ?". Hope it's fine for everyone, feedback would be great.

Well, at the end of the first part, the "once you store an object, it will never be the same", is missleading at least, if not just plain wrong.

Hibernate will not change your stored objects in any way (except setting the id), and will also not associate it mysteriously with some childs which were not there before. Probably I don't get you right, but you should certainly reformulate that.

Of course not; it is just a sort of joke. I just mean that the collections will be wrapped.

I see that the screenshots I put may be misleading, will correct that.

Still don't like that "once you store an object, it will never be the same" sentence, but well ...

Hmm... I'd go with "Once you store an object, it might never be the same". Especially if you store and then load it.

why not just write it as it is ?

"Once you store an object, it's collections might be replaced with a hibernate collection to allow hibernate track changes effictively" ?
