You have to enable caching for the returned class and its attributes, too i think

yep, that's it

I added the following line in hibernate.cfg.xml

<jcs-class-cache class="eu.cec.admin.epes.services.person.CrfPerson" usage="read-only"/>

in the mapping file, the class is defined with mutable="false".
