Hi,

I am investigating the use of rules-engines in the business level of an application and was wondering if anyone in the forum:

(a) Has used Hibernate with JESS, DROOLS or MANDARAX.
(b) Knows if the JBOSS team have any plans to integrate a rules based engine into JBoss and therfore Hibernate.

Thanks,

Dan

We're investigating the use of mandrax for a business rules project for our organization.

The rationale for using mandarax are based on it's use of backwards chaining and it's good set of support tools.

Mandrax comes with it's own mechanism for converting your data model into "user objects", a place we thought that Hibernate would fit in well.

It should be possible to fit in your own mapping system ( based around Hibernate ) but it's not present.

If the plan is to use Hibernate to map your data model into objects and then apply the rules system on that, something on the order of Drools may be more what you're looking for.
