Hi

Can I use generators for specific fields on a composite ID?. I've been searching the forums and there is no clear answer on this topic.

Regards

No. The <generator> element is only available to as a child of the <id> element.

Composite Ids are by default and nature an "assigned" value. Individual element values are set by the application. To select a sequence value for a element then you will need to use JDBC to collect the value when initialising the new composite Id value.
