Hi all,
Sorry for the OT, I wanted to announce that I have taken over the developmente of the eclipse plugin codesugar. (which generated equals and clone methods) and added the capability of generating toString and hashCode.
I wanted to mention it here because I think it's quite usefull for hibernate developers which use eclipse (especially for composite primary key classes)

the prj is at http://sf.net/projects/codesugar

Thanks. The only comments I woulld make is you could spend a little time providing some web documentation like a home page so people can understand what your project offers.

I typed a few lines of lines to explain what the plugin does. I'm really interested on what you, hibernate users, need to make hibernate coding easier. So any comments are appreciated.

I think its great that you (and others) have produced tools with the goal to help Hibernate. As an example, Max has made good progress with hibern8ide as it allows queries the be interactively created and the results inspected. On the other side, coding tools can also be very valuable so please keep up the good work.

In the longer term I would like to see a commercial quality ide similar to the feature set of Toplinks. This really is the only area that Hibernate at the moment does not equal or better the best of the ORMs available.

Did you try it for real. Commercial quality ide may not be as good as it seems ;-)

shameless plug ;)

I actually don't know any query IDE, that allows for expressing your query in java.....(for e.g. testing Criteria queries...)....Hibern8IDE allows for this - so we do have some "not-found-elsewhere" functionallity ;)

(btw. now we just need to get people to use the darn thing so I can get feedback ....it can't be true that Hibern8IDE is error free, right ? ;)

I do find that I want to break out of using most IDEs that support a specific tool due to limitations or restrictions. I have not used Toplinks IDE other than a quick play (and attending a demo at JAOO). If it is not all that great when under the gun then thats just an opportunity.
