Hi,

according to changelog.txt, the built-in PreparedStatement cache was removed in Hibernate 2.1beta4.

Why? I thought that a PreparedStatement cache increases the performance quit a bit for certain databases.

Only used/useful with the internal non-production (recommended prototype only) database pool.

It was common fault that it was being used with other pools which was causing use issues for very little benefit. A number of items are being trimmed in the current beta set. More fat trimmed in the next release.
