Ive read the internal and external docs, googled, and attempted myself, but no luck. I understand the basics, but how it all fits together... not so much.

Questions:
is there a good example for tomcat, hibernate and struts
is there a good example for using hibernate to manipulate you persistant class from a junit test case (preferably involving no struts or tomcat, just modifying the persistant class and using hibernate to do its magic)

i welcome all sensible responses. i am not pleased with any helps i have read so far, and once if figure this out, will be writing my own quickstart for all to see.

apologies for my ignorance and thanks for your help

i have seen the example on sf.net (yes, even the ones for struts and tomcat) and the most of the one from google. however, if you find one that helped you setup your first hibernate project and you think may help me given what ive said, the please point me onward.

thanks again

Try http://www.hibernate.org/hib_docs/examples/ the first example is a step by step using tomcat and hibernate. Christan has writen a nice intro.

More advanced: Try
http://static.raibledesigns.com/downloads for the struts resume application. It includes all aspects and it worth looking over for ideas.

Also: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/struts/struts-hibernate-src.zip?download
maybe ok (I have not looked at it).

If non of these (or others that do exist) are not appropriate then your contribution would help others in the same situation.
