On the roadmap the 2.1 beta 2 milestone says:
Quote:
support for cache plugins, via CacheProvider interface (includes support for Tangosol Coherence cache). (DONE)

Given this, and that I think I remember someone on the forum saying the JCS doesn't seem very active lately, what are the current options for caching with Hibernate?

Coherence support is great, but given that it costs about US $2000/CPU I doubt I can swing it with the customer.

So, what are the other options? Is anyone using anything besides JCS? Is anyone using Coherence with Hibernate yet?

Cheers,
Shorn.

After I get back from Europe in October, I will sit down with Bela Ban from JavaGroups and get his TreeCache properly integrated. We have already discussed this extensively. Just don't have time to do it now.
