Can someone explain Ternary associations a bit more clearly to me?
In the documentation there only a short blurb and the method they "use" is described as "A second approach is to simply remodel the association as an entity class. This is the approach we use most commonly. " With no example.

Also is it concidered a ternary association if you are dealing with 2 object but 1 of those objects has 2 unique id references? such as an "aca" association with "a" in position 1 having a value other than "a" in position 3.

How is this created with annotations if this situation applies. Is it just JoinColumn annotations?
