Programmatically disabling/enabling automatic indexing?

Is it possible to programmatically enable or disable automatic indexing?

The most obvious route seemed to be (for me anyway) Search.setAutoIndexingMode("indexName", false). I looked around here and didn't see anything.

It is interesting that you can't disable auto indexing on an index-by-index level and ideally programmatically do so.

Hi Eric,

you are right - at the moment you can only enable/disable auto-indexing via the configuration. I guess there could be valuable uses cases for this kind of functionality. Maybe you want to open an issue for this?

What is your use case eric.
The main reason it's not there today is because disabling indexing on one entity and leaving it on on others might lead to data not updated (since there could be relations (@IndexedEmbedded) between them).
