I'm currently using Hibernate search in a web application.
I am using FSDirectoryProvider.But i have not mentioned index base property("hibernate.search.default.indexBase").
Still my web app and hibernate lucene search working fine;

My question is where should the indexes will be stored?

I know For the standalone java application index files get created in the index class package itself.

I am using Eclipse3.3 Europa.

Thanks
sm

The default for indexBase is ./
so it depends on how you VM has been started.

You can search on the full class name of your indexed objects (ie. com.foo.domain.Product) on you file system. This way a directory with some .cfs files will show, this is a sub-directory of your index directory
